The KAIMAN vice stands out for its remarkable technical performance and is clearly positioned in the mid-to-high-end segment of Stonfo vices.

Its main advantage lies in its hardened steel pliers, offering exceptional, even extreme, grip. Its ingenious design allows effective use on a wide range of hooks, from the smallest in size 28 to the largest marine models in 5/0. To ensure optimal support for large hooks, a specific location has been integrated into the jaws of the vice, designed to accommodate the curvature of the hook (see figure 1).

The KAIMAN's powerful jaws are opened and closed by applying pressure to a large, ergonomic lever located between them (see Figure 2). This intuitive mechanism allows the hook to be positioned and repositioned in an instant. By activating the lever, the jaws spread apart; by releasing it, they automatically close, ensuring optimal attachment without the need for further adjustments.

Stonfo's KAIMAN vise provides an optimal working position when its lever is facing downward. In this configuration, fly tying is naturally done with the right hand. However, for left-handed users, the lever position can be reversed.

To make this adjustment, simply use the Allen key provided in the package and loosen the bolt shown in the illustration (see figure 3). Once loosened, the lever can be removed and repositioned on the other side of the clamp (see figure 4).

The KAIMAN vise offers an adjustable head angle to suit your needs (see Figure 5). Simply use the large Allen key provided to loosen the corresponding bolt and set the desired angle.

The cylinder containing the clamping jaws (Figure 6 - A) is machined from a single block of stainless steel, ensuring strength and durability. It is mounted on precision bearings that ensure smooth 360° rotation. For optimal control of this rotation, a double-diameter handwheel (Figure 6 - B) has been specially designed, providing an ergonomic grip and precise adjustment.

The 360° rotation of the clamp is fully adjustable thanks to an adjustment knob, offering three distinct modes: free rotation, intermediate locking and total locking.

• Free rotation : By fully loosening the knob, the hook can rotate without any resistance at 360°.

• Intermediate Lock : By partially tightening the knob, the hook remains free to rotate, but automatically locks at the 0° and 180° positions (see Figure 7). To continue rotation, simply apply a little additional pressure.

• Total Lock : By tightening the knob fully, the hook is completely immobilized in the chosen position, ensuring maximum stability.

Although the base may look similar to Stonfo's entry-level vises, it features a notable improvement: the vise shaft (Figure 8 - C) is inserted into a longer cylinder, providing much greater height adjustment.

Otherwise, it retains the assets that have made the brand's reputation: two integrated bins for storing assembly equipment and non-slip feet ensuring optimal stability.

Compact and easily disassembled, this vice takes up minimal space when stored, making it easy to store in a drawer or carry in a travel bag.

The package includes a fixed spring for holding the material, designed to install easily on the clamp jaws (see figure 9).
